Old Tree: The Handwritten Font That Boosts Campaign Clarity

I was knee-deep in preparing a product launch for a new line of eco-friendly stationery when I hit a roadblock. The visuals were clean, the colors were on point, but something felt missing. The headlines lacked personality, and the brand message wasn’t landing with the same warmth I wanted. Then I stumbled upon Old Tree—a handwritten font from Script Amp that brought the entire campaign to life.

Old Tree is a simple yet adaptable handwritten font that feels like a personal note from a friend. It carries a warm, organic charm that’s perfect for creating a sense of connection. Its visual style blends soft curves with subtle imperfections, giving it a human touch that digital fonts often lack. Whether you're designing a social media graphic or a website banner, Old Tree adds a layer of authenticity that makes your message more relatable and memorable.

How Old Tree Elevated My Launch Graphics

For the stationery launch, I needed a font that would stand out without overwhelming the design. Old Tree fit perfectly. I used it for the main headline on the landing page, and the result was immediate. The text felt more inviting, as if the brand was speaking directly to the audience. It also worked well for callout sections, where I highlighted key features like “100% Recycled Paper” and “Eco-Friendly Packaging.”

On Instagram, I created a series of posts using Old Tree for captions and hashtags. The font’s readability on mobile screens was impressive—despite being handwritten, it didn’t lose clarity even at smaller sizes. This made it ideal for thumbnails and quick-scrolling feeds, where first impressions matter most.

Using Old Tree Across Different Campaign Elements

The versatility of Old Tree shone through in various campaign elements:

One of my favorite uses was for a webinar promotion. The title “Join Us for an Eco Living Masterclass” stood out against a minimalist background, thanks to the characterful strokes of Old Tree. It gave the event a personal touch that helped drive sign-ups.

Designing with Readability and Impact in Mind

When working with handwritten fonts, readability can be tricky. But Old Tree struck the right balance between elegance and legibility. I found that it performed exceptionally well on both light and dark backgrounds, which was crucial for ensuring visibility across different platforms.

For fast-scrolling feeds, I paired Old Tree with a clean sans serif font for body text. This combination allowed the headlines to pop while keeping the supporting text easy to read. It’s a great example of how thoughtful font pairing can enhance the overall design.

Another tip I picked up was to use Old Tree sparingly. It works best for short headlines, callouts, and decorative titles. Overusing it could dilute its impact and make the design feel cluttered.

Practical Considerations Before Using Old Tree

Before integrating Old Tree into any campaign, I checked the included styles, alternates, and ligatures. The font offered enough variation to create unique designs without needing multiple typefaces. It also supported multiple languages, which was a bonus when creating multilingual content.

Since I was using it for client campaigns, I made sure to confirm the commercial font licensing. It’s essential to have the right permissions when incorporating Old Tree into ads, templates, or branded content.

I also tested it across different file formats to ensure compatibility with design tools and web platforms. The results were consistent, and the font rendered beautifully in both print and digital formats.

Whether you're launching a product, promoting a sale, or building a brand identity, Old Tree offers a fresh and authentic way to communicate your message. Its adaptability and charm make it a valuable addition to any designer’s toolkit.
